The pregnancy glow, is what expecting mothers look forward to. Where your hair length get longer. Your face brightens up. Everyone around you begins to complement how wonderful you look. Food begins to taste amazing. Well that glow didn’t happen to me. I looked like a dried up Pumpkin with cholesterol issues. The heels of my feet became cracked and swelled. Soaking my feet in Epsom salt and warm water helped bring down the swelling. Acne flared up on my face as if I was going through puberty again. Food caused me to throw up constantly, with acid reflex punching me in the face. Accompanied by passing pregnancy gas that smelled like a sewer. Tums became my best friend every time I ate. Needless to say, I did not have a pregnancy glow. I was tired all the time to the point where I almost fell asleep at my own baby shower. I thought I would never get my pre pregnancy body back. But still every day I woke up hoping for my glow to appear.

So I tried to take getting my glow into my own hands. I decided to try a new short hair style. As you maybe be already thinking, it did not go well. I looked like the character Annie with my curly hair. I felt even worse about myself. I tried to straighten it, but I would sweat out my hair within hours. Once my daughter was born, I saw where my glow went. She came out beautiful, with a head full of hair and thick eyebrows. The pregnancy glow doesn’t happen for everyone. If you did get the pregnancy glow, be grateful. If you didn’t, just remember it is only temporary. Take care of your body regardless of the glow. Face masks and hair treatments are good starters for self-care routines.
